Mission Statement:

The mission of Wayside is to increase access to food for those in need in Southern Maine by providing a system for community based volunteers to work closely with Wayside staff, other volunteers and populations in need to assess,
address and meet the need for hunger relief in our community. WaysideÂ’s volunteers help to serve prepared meals, where such meals are needed, through WaysideÂ’s Meals Program and help to collect, sort and distribute food to over 51 area pantries and agencies through WaysideÂ’s Food Rescue Program. The volunteer work is accomplished by collaborating with multiple agencies and developing an efficient network for the collection, preparation and equitable distribution of food.
