Youth With A Mission Ozarks

Organization Description:

1. Train and disciple young people.

The emerging generation does not want to be told how to follow Jesus ? they want to see it demonstrated and experience following Him with others. We desire to create a Great Commission training community where discipleship is caught, not just taught. The objective for YWAM Ozarks is for a live-learn community where the Word, fellowship, and God?s heartbeat for missions is part of daily living.

2. Train them in the Word.

A solid foundation in the Word is a major objective. Training, not just in Bible knowledge but training to touch the issues of life is critical. We will use inductive Bible study to ground young people in the Word and to give them the tools to train others as well.

3. Partner with local churches.

We are committed to pursue unity and cooperation with the local Church (Body of Christ). We desire to learn from what God has already invested in this region, and to discover ways that the gifts and strengths of YWAM can best serve the Church.

4. Reach the next generation.

We will focus on youth directly and indirectly, as an outgrowth of who we are. Whether that be in hosting sports camps or weekend retreats, leading teen Bible studies or conducting teacher seminars, we intend to practice what we preach: reaching the next generation is crucial for any mission venture. It will be a wise investment of our time and energy.

5. Mobilize young people to reach our world.

We believe there are two emphases the Lord would have for YWAM Ozarks to help fulfill the Great Commission:

? Minister to the local region with training, evangelism, and practical service.

? Mobilize young people to reach those who have yet to hear the Good News of Jesus.

Mission Statement:

Train and disciple young people for missions, and mobilize workers to serve in their God-given calling, both locally and in the unreached areas of the world.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. As citizens of God's kingdom, we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord, to love and serve His Body, the Church, and to present the whole gospel for the whole person throughout the whole world.

We of Youth With A Mission believe that the Bible is God's inspired and authoritative word, revealing that Jesus Christ is God's son; that people are created in God's image; that He created us to have eternal life through Jesus Christ; that although all people have sinned and come short of God's glory, God has made salvation possible through the death on the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ; that repentance, faith, love and obedience are fitting responses to God's initiative of grace towards us; that God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth; and that the Holy Spirit's power is demonstrated in and through us for the accomplishment of Christ's last commandment, "...Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15).
