YWAM Arctic Mercy
YWAM, founded in 1960, utilizes over 12,000 volunteer staff based in over 1,200 locations in over 140 countries. In addition, tens of thousands more people are involved in short-term mission opportunities each year. Coming from many different backgrounds and working on a wide range of opportunities, YWAM is united in our desire to be part of bringing the love of Jesus Christ to those who have never heard and to those who have had the name of Jesus misrepresented in the past. It is about bringing the transforming power of Jesus Christ to a broken and desperate world. It?s about leading people in to the fulfillment of their hearts. It?s about becoming less so that He can become more.
YWAM operates through three arms of ministry:
Evangelism ? spreading God?s message, Training ? preparing workers to reach others, Mercy Ministries ? showing God?s love through practical assistance.
Jesus said, ?Come and see.? We challenge you to come and see; experience God?s presence, discover His plan for you and the nations, and pursue your place in the Great Commission.
We of Youth With A Mission believe that the Bible is God's inspired and authoritative word, revealing that Jesus Christ is God's son; that people are created in God's image; that He created us to have eternal life through Jesus Christ; that although all people have sinned and come short of God's glory, God has made salvation possible through the death on the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ; that repentance, faith, love and obedience are fitting responses to God's initiative of grace toward us; that God desires all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth; and that the Holy Spirit's power is demonstrated in and through us for the accomplishment of Christ's last commandment, "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15)
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to training and equipping believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. As citizens of God's Kingdom, we are called to love, worship and obey our Lord, to love His Body, the Church, and to present the whole Gospel for the whole person throughout the whole world.
