YWAM huambo

Organization Description:

YWAM is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicating to serving Jesus throughout the world. Our passion is to know God and make him Known. Back to 1960, our main focus was to get youth into short term mission work and give them opportunities to reach out in Jesus' name. Today, we still focus on youth, and we also ivlve people from age 8 to 80 from over 130 countries. In many of our teams, people from several nations live and work side by side.
Our many ministries fit into three main categories: evangelism, training and mercy ministry. We currently operate in more than 900 locations in over 140 countries, with a full time staff of 11.000

Mission Statement:

In obedience to the commandments of Jesus, JOCUM Huambo is committed to take GodÂ’s love in word and deed.

We aim to encourage, equip and assist the Church, through training and service opportunities, to holistically develop AngolaÂ’s central highlands, so that;

• The Church is enlarged and strengthened to positively influence education, justice, government, business, and other key areas of society.

• Communities are equipped to fulfil their potential through integrated development programmes.

• The Church takes responsibility for sending and supporting missionaries into unreached areas to establish and multiply these ministries.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

We believe that the Bible is God's inspired and authorative word, revealing that Jesus Christ is God's son; that people are created in God's image; that He created us to have eternal life through Jesus Christ; that although all people have sinned and come short of God's glory, God has made salvation possible through the death on the cross and ressuction of jesus Christ; that repentance, faith, love and obedience are fitting responses to god's iniciative of grace towards us; that God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth; and that the Holy Spirit's power is demonstrated in and through us for the accomplishment of Christ's last commandment "...Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (Mark 16:15)
