Project Description:

Catrina's year-long project includes both a PowerPoint presentation and a guide on how to involve parents in after-school programs. Catrina's guidebook provides simple ways to involve parents and guardians in your after-school program as well as how to support them. Her guidebook also covers topics such as:

  • Why are after-school programs important?
  • Having initial communication with parents/guardians
  • Creating and maintaining continual contact with parents and caregivers
    • Examples of service activities that includre both parents and children
    • Creating informal spaces for parents to attend and participate in

The guidebook also contains samples of registration forms for an after-school program.
