House of Hope Illinois
House of Hope Illinois is a Christian inter-denominational, not-for-profit ministry established to serve the teens and families of Northern Illinois and Northwestern Indiana. House of Hope Illinois is about changing lives and making a difference in the life of a hurting teen.
The mission of House of Hope Illinois is to offer hope and help to hurting teens and their families through Biblical counseling, mentoring, residential education, and prayer with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. As hurts are healed, relationships are then restored, and families are reconciled.
Statement of Faith
We believe in:
The Bible: We believe that All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that we may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Trinity: There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. (2 Corinthians 13:14) As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. (Matthew 3:16-17)
Salvation: We believe Jesus is our Savior. Jesus is the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. (John 14:6) That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (Romans 10:8-10)
Prayer: We believe in the power of prayer.Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4: 6-7) Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. (James 5:16)
As we serve teens and families, we believe that:
We are created in God ƒâ€š ‚’s own image (Genesis 1:27). He has a perfect plan for our lives, plans to give us hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11) For nothing is impossible with God. (Luke 1:37) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
Our Lord Forgives: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
Our Lord Restores: He restores my soul (Psalm 23:3) And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. (1 Peter 5:9-11)
Our Lord Heals: O LORD my God, I called to you for help and you healed me. Psalm 30:2 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:2-4)
Our Lord Rescues: The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. (2 Timothy 4:18)
Our Lord Gives Hope: For you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth. (Psalm 71:5)
God loves us: And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. (1 John 4:16)
